Blink 182 ~ Adam’s Song
The story behind Adam’s Song is really quite sad. Mark Hoppus, the bass player of Blink 182, received an email from a mother whose son had committed suicide. Attached was the letter he had written before his death. The band got together and started to put a song together it. The basic plot of it starts out with a kid who is planning on committing suicide. After talking out his reasoning, he decides maybe life isn’t that bad and that suicide isn’t the answer.
The line “I took my time, I hurried up, the choice was mine, I didn’t think enough” refers to the 1991 Nirvana’s song “Come As You Are.” There, the line is, “Take your time, hurry up, the choice is yours, don’t be late.

I thought we could wait for the fireworks
I thought we could wait for the snow
